I am Spiritual but not Religious These days it is more likely for someone to say that they are Spiritual instead of Religious. But what exactly does that mean? Everyone has a different definition. My “spirituality” consists of two beliefs: 1) Most likely there is a better place where we can go. 2) We have the “free will” or ability to get there.
Many of us may NOT get EVERYTHING we want in this lifetime. No matter how positively we think. And while no one likes to suffer, that might be okay. Because we may grow spiritually instead. And since Eternity is greater than this Lifetime, that could be even better. That may be the REAL secret!
Typically, there are two categories of depression – Chemical and Situational. But is it possible that there is a third type? Perhaps it is the most common, yet misunderstood type of all – Spiritual Depression. Spiritual Depression might occur when one realizes that complete and permanent Happiness might not be obtainable in the material world. Perhaps it can be treated – not by therapists or medicine – but by spiritual enlightenment.
What is the meaning of life? What if it’s distraction from boredom? What if we are escaping a peaceful but ho-hum heaven by coming down to earth to experience its ups and downs, joys and sorrows?
Free Will is the ability for sentient beings to make conscious choices when it comes to their own actions and behavior. Furthermore, it is supposedly the reason for our own karma and destiny, and “mastering” our free will is perhaps the only way to a heaven, or better place. But why do we have “free will” to begin with?
